They may decide to do so for health reasons, for the good of the environment, or to avoid cruelty to animals. Some vegetarians decide to be vegan, they do their best to avoid consuming products that have any types of ingredients that come from animals, including eggs and dairy products.

There are other forms of vegetarianism that are not as commonly found throughout society, and one of these forms is known as fruitarianism. As the name implies, fruitarianists strive to have diets that only consist of fruits of plants and trees. In this article, we’ll highlight some of the aspects of fruitarianism so that you can get a better understanding of what this lesser-known practice is all about.

Fruitarian diets can differ a lot depending upon the person who is the practicing it. Some endevour to make the majority of their meals, or fifty percent or more of their meals, consistent of fruits. Others argue that the definition of a fruit should include foods such as nuts, grains, or bell peppers. Others argue that a true fruitarian will only eat fruits that naturally fall off of the plant, this way they may avoid killing the plant by harvesting the fruit.

Many of the individuals that practice a fruitarian diet do so for religious reasons; they normally employ a holistic approach to medicine and argue that a fundamentalist lifestyle should be sought after, they believe that Adam and Eve ate fruit in order to set a good example. Others simply feel that they want to avoid destroying life as much as possible, treading lightly on the earth and being gentle to both plant and animal life.

the United States National Institute of Health has stated that a fruitarian is not able to get the right amount of vitamin B12 in their diet, and this can be damaging to their health. The lack of protein that this diet advocates can be problematic in terms of an individual’s level of health. If you are thinking of becoming a fruitarian and are wondering about how the diet can be sustainable while maintaining your level of health, you will have to consider supplementing your diet with protein, vitamin B12, and several other key nutrients that you are unable to obtain via fruit only.

Without a doubt, the fruitarian diet can be extremely hard to see through. If you agree with the principles of the diet, you must consider easing into it by eating more fruit and decreasing your consumption of animal products. In the end, you may find that the slow and steady path towards a fruitarian diet will be more successful than trying to immediately switch your diet. You should also make sure you do plenty of research regarding exactly what types of supplementation you will need to do with your diet in order to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

The vegan diet consists mainly of all organic plant material. Being a vegan is more than a way of eating, it is also a lifestyle. Vegans do not consume anything with animal products in it. They also don’t use anything that could be made from animals, including clothes, beverages and cosmetics. A vegetarian is a slightly less strict form of veganism. A vegetarian will use products with animal products, and while they will consume products like eggs, milk and cheese, they stay away from meat. Some vegetarians only refrain from eating red meat, but will eat poultry or fish. It is a much less strict lifestyle than the vegan.

While the vegan diet lacks in many important vitamins and nutrients, it is still a relatively healthy lifestyle if maintained properly. Vegans who properly plan and execute their diets can satisfy essential nutrient needs. Meats contain many vitamins that the body needs to survive, but there are other options. Lower calcium levels, lack of vitamins like B & D and iodine are big concerns for vegans. The best way to replace these essential nutrients is to take a supplement. But not all supplements are the same as some contain animal byproducts. To avoid this, it is important to read the label and do your homework so you know what you are consuming.

In case studies with adolescents, it has been shown that many vegan adolescents use the diet as a way to mask an eating disorder. However, on the other hand, a vegan diet does not lead to eating disorders. As a parent it is important to know why your child has chosen this lifestyle. Be involved and know what they are eating, as well as what they aren’t. Raw veganism and frutarianism are similar in concept to veganism. Raw veganism is a diet consisting of raw fruits and vegetables. It is basically everything a vegan eats, but without cooking the product over one hundred eighteen degrees Fahrenheit. Raw nuts, vegetables, fruits, herbs and fruit juices are high on the list of foods to eat. Uncooked, they retain much of their essential nutrients. The vegan who consumes at least seventy-five percent raw vegan food is considered a raw vegan.

The vegan diet, unlike the other, smaller niche diets, has been found to have beneficial health qualities if it is properly followed. In fact, many countries outside the United States already consume high quantities of these products, along with less meats, if any meat at all. Tofu, seitan and tempeh are all commonly used in most East Asian diets. Cows milk as we know it is being readily replaced by soymilk and in place of eggs, applesauce is being implemented into cooking as a starch in foods. For those who are prepared to follow the strict vegan low fat diet and who properly supplement the missing vitamins and minerals that meat contains, they will find a satisfying and healthy lifestyle.

Some diets are difficult to follow for one reason or another. For example, some are expensive, difficult to prepare, or downright unhealthy. The Fruitarian Diet, on the other hand, does not work for most people because not only can it cause severe health problems, but it can also lead to mental problems as well. Before we delve into that, we must first discuss what the Fruitarian Diet is.

Truth be told, fruitarianism is more than just a program. For the people who practice it, it is a way of life. Fruitarians not only do not eat anything other than fruits, they only eat fruits that can be gathered without causing any harm to the plant. Extreme fruitarians eat only fruits that fall to the ground naturally. Most fruitarians do not eat cooked food, nor do they eat vegetables since eating them causes harm to the plant. Knowing this, you already have an idea how difficult it is to be a fruitarian.

Furthermore, negative factors abound once you try a fruitarian diet. Not only do people find the diet so difficult to follow, it can also lead to diseases or disorders such as the following: Vitamin B12 deficiency, Diabetic diseases due to high sugar intake from fruits, Eating disorders. The last disorder is brought about by the fact that eating only fruits can cause a person to crave for other foods. This can lead to binge-eating and purging. Some become obsessed with eating only the right food, in this case, fruits, and this can lead to anorexia. These are just a few negative factors about the diet. However, if you are keen on trying it out, make sure that you have other sources of essential nutrients or vitamins to keep your body in shape.

There are many different types of foods and also every pet has their likes and dislikes. All the pet lovers wish that their pet is always fit and healthy so to achieve this it is necessary that you give them the right food with the right diet. Therefore in this article we will discuss as to what is the right food that you must be feeding for your four legged friend with?

Now one might be thinking that whether the pet food is healthy or not? So the answer is no. There are lots of things in the food that may not be safe for the pets to consume. It has chemicals and the preservative that adversely affect the health of your friend. Though these types of products are cheap but you cannot compromise with your pet’s health. Therefore it can be said that there are lots of things to be considered if you are feeding your pet with the pet food items.

A few pet owners have a misconception that meat is beneficial for the pets but this is not really the case. They harm the intestine of the dogs and the cats. So it becomes very important to decide what is necessary and essential for the pets. The answer is energy and the proper nutrients are must for every pet. They need adequate quantity if proteins, vitamins and minerals. Together with pet food, the water is also very necessary for them.

So if you are thinking of finding a perfect pet food then you must remember that the above needs must be kept in mind. The nutrients give them energy to run around and play. If they do not have sufficient energy they will not be able to walk even. Thus a healthy diet will give them all the nourishment that a pet needs. Therefore the right quantity of food will help them to grow and nurture. But if more quantity of food is given then also it will have negative effects on their body.

Therefore always buy those products that are fresh because if they are kept for a longer duration of time they loose all their nutrients and thus there is no use of giving them to pets. So whenever you go to buy a product you must look for the tag “COMPLETE” which means that the product has all the required nutrients in it. And if it has a tag “COMPLEMENTARY” then there are some nutrients missing.

So if you are finding it difficult to find the best food, consult your vet who will tell you about all the food items that can be given to pets. Therefore keep your pet fit and fine so that he is happy.

The number of vegetarians worldwide is growing as more people realize the health, ethical, and environmental benefits of going meat free. As more of us get used to the idea of eating meals that aren’t meat based, we also wonder if meat is a good idea for our pets. After all, regular dog food is made up mostly of by products and other unwanted meat industry leftovers. That industry has a huge environmental impact, and is responsible for some real ethical abuses.

However, we also have to pay attention to the fact that our pet dogs are naturally meat eaters. That can lead to worries that vegetarian dog food might cause health problems. Here’s a look at vegetarian dogs, their health and how long they live, and what happens when you feed a meat free diet.

What is a vegetarian? Lots of people disagree, with some people including animal foods like eggs and milk in their diet, and some others claiming to be vegetarian even though they eat some meats! However, the most commonly accepted definition of vegetarian is someone who doesn’t eat meat of any kind, but does eat dairy products and eggs. Vegetarian dog foods generally include soy, grains, fruits and vegetables, seeds and nuts, beans, lentils and other legumes, and dairy products and eggs.

Fortunately, dogs aren’t obligate carnivores the way cats are. They don’t need vitamins that can only be found in meat. That means that, in theory, we can feed our dogs without it. However, getting that nutritional balance right can be really tricky. After all, a wild canid diet is highly varied. If your dog doesn’t eat enough of an essential nutrient, you could end up with a sick pet. Dogs shouldn’t eat too much in the way of carbohydrates, either, since that can cause digestive problems. Look for a good packaged vegetarian dog food – ideally one recommended by your vet – if you’re concerned about nutrition.

Is your dog adjusting properly to a new vegetarian diet? Signs that he or she isn’t include hair loss, mood and personality changes, digestive problems and a general sense of sluggishness. Remember that vegetarian protein replacements are among the foods most likely to cause allergic reactions. However, many dogs are entirely happy eating a good vegetarian diet.

Another option, if your dog can’t handle completely vegetarian dog food, is to choose foods made from ethically produced meats. Responsibly sourced plant foods, meat from animals raised under humane conditions, and other ethically produced ingredients could help you avoid the problems that come with feeding conventional dog food.

Decide why you want to become a vegetarian. There are as many reasons for becoming vegetarians as there are people out there. Whatever your reason is you need to clarify it. If you are one of those wanting to do it because it seems like a good idea or because your friends are doing it then you need to read and listen to as much information as possible on the subject of vegetarianism(is that a word?) in order to get a more substantial reason for continuity. So, no matter what your reason may be, for the most part the underlying reason behind most people becoming vegetarians is a desire for better health. Most health practitioners would agree that a vegetarian lifestyle is a healthier lifestyle.

Now you know the reason you want to become a vegetarian. Decide what type of vegetarian you are going to be. This is not going to be set in stone. You can make different choices as your learn and grow on this journey. Let’s discuss different types of vegetarians. The basic vegetarian eating plan is one that consists of mainly fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, beans and grains. There are also as many variations of the major types as there are people because it’s an individual decision. You are the one who has to decide what goes in and out of your mouth. That said, let’s move on. The major types of vegetarians are the ovo-lacto vegetarians, pescatarians, lacto-vegetarians, vegans, ovo-vegetarians, raw vegans.

You’ve figured out what type you’d like to begin your vegetarian journey with, now you need to begin to eliminate the unwanted items in your eating plan and include more of the fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. Some people go cold turkey and eliminate all the unwanted stuff right away. Others eliminate an item at a time. Again the choice is yours. If you’ve only associated being a vegetarian with eating big bowls of salad and nothing else, welcome to an exciting journey. Those times have long past and a vegetarian lifestyle is filled with delicious and mouth watering eats and the salads have come a long way. The only boundary is your imagination. Now you start to have fun.

Create a menu plan based centered around your new eating choices. Do internet searches for vegetarians menu plans, check out library books on vegetarian cooking, experiment with different types of vegetables. Try out a few that appeal to you. Take your favorite vegetable and start looking for different ways to prepare it. Don’t be afraid to try a combination you’ve never tasted before, you might be pleasantly surprised at the taste.

Never stop learning. The key to sticking with any decision is to keep yourself informed. The more you read and listen to materials on the health benefits of different foods and the vegetarian lifestyle, the more motivated you are to stick with it especially in the beginning stages.

Be easy on yourself and those around you. Eating an occasional piece of ‘whatever’ amidst an otherwise healthy eating plan is okay. Don’t allow anyone to make you feel guilty for occasionally indulging. Go easy on those around you who have not yet made the decision to transition to a vegetarian eating plan. By your example they will be encouraged to take baby steps. Let them notice the weight loss, the increased energy, clearer skin and all the benefits that go with the vegetarian lifestyle. Answer their questions with a non-condemning or self-righteous attitude and share from time to time snippets from articles you read or audios you listen to. Don’t bombard them just be open to their questions and occasionally share what you are learning.

This diet is definitely not without its critics; the United States National Institute of Health has stated that a fruitarian is not able to get the right amount of vitamin B12 in their diet, and this can be damaging to their health.

The main premise, when following this form of a raw vegan diet, has to do with a person limiting him or herself to only eating fruits, some varieties of seeds, and a limited selection of vegetables. Of course, much of the food selection that a fruitarian chooses for this living raw lifestyle depends on how strictly they choose to follow this diet. There are many supporters of the lifestyle that some call “living raw” and claim that following a fruitarian diet is healthful, as it has many benefits, but those in the mainstream medical community disagree strongly. It is a fact that most traditional physicians caution against eating a strict fruit diet because it will result in a lack of nutrition and lead to health problems.

The idea of a fruit diet goes back a long way in human history to a time when humans were in their primitive state, and only had a diet that consisted of living foods, such as fruits and vegetables. Fruitarians are also quick to point out that many health and digestive problems are created by the cooking of foods, as is commonly practiced in today’s modern world. They claim that many common diseases and illnesses can be prevented or reversed by focusing on raw food in a daily eating plan.

Even though eating raw food is central to the fruit diet, the fact is that there are a number of fresh fruits and vegetables that are simply indigestible unless they are cooked. Those who warn against a strict fruitarian lifestyle use this point to suggest that cooking processes have actually expanded the nutritional choices available to the human race, rather than destroying nutrients as extreme fruitarians claim.

In actuality, the truth is somewhere in between. While there is no doubt that fruit adds many beneficial nutritional elements into the diet, reason would dictate that following this path very strictly would eliminate some nutrients that the human body needs to flourish. At the same time, there is abundant and clear evidence that cooking fresh and living foods will indeed destroy vitamins, minerals, enzymes and other nutrients.

The majority of those who follow and advocate the fruitarian diet do recognize that relying on such a narrow range of foods is not the healthiest approach. As a result, most fruitarians strive to include a wider range of healthy foods into their overall diets for good balance and full nutrition. The bottom line is that the average person could benefit from eating raw food in more abundance, even though going to the extreme of a fruitarian lifestyle is not necessary.

The truth is that the lifestyle of a vegetarian is not that different than everyone else in the culture. In fact, the odds are that somewhere in your social circle at work, school, church or in your family and friends network, you already know several people who are quietly enjoying the lifestyle of a vegetarian. So to help us get over the negative stereotypes to understand how a vegetarian actually lives, lets examine what is different about a vegetarians life.

The most significant difference in how a vegetarian lives is obvious because it is in how he or she eats. You will not find any meat in a vegetarian’s kitchen. Now this doesn’t mean that a vegetarian cannot live in a family and be at peace with meat eaters. If the home has one vegetarian but others who are not, you will be able to tell from the presence of soy and perhaps more fruit and fresh vegetables in the refrigerator. But the idea that vegetarians cannot be around meat eaters is false. If anything vegetarians are peace loving and can live their lifestyle around others who are not of their belief system very well.

Grocery shopping with a vegetarian is an eye opening experience and one that is quite different in more ways than you would suspect. Being a vegetarian isn’t just about what you don’t eat in that you don’t eat meat. It is also about a completely different approach to diet and foods. So you will not see a vegetarian buying food in the same way most people do. There will be much more time spent in the fresh produce section of the grocery store. The checkout basket of a vegetarian will give him or her away every time because it will be overflowing with fresh foods.

The vegetarian movement is in harmony with many of the earth first movements such as the organic movement and the green movement. So a vegetarian kitchen will have more organic foods on hand to reduce the presence of harmful pesticides and other substances in the diet. Also vegetarianism affects the lifestyle beyond just the refrigerator and the pantry. You will not find leather clothing in a vegetarian’s closet and you wont find fur there either. That is became for the most part vegetarians are sensitive to animal rights and they don’t want to see the skin of animals used in their clothing.

The house of a vegetarian will also be a recycling house to do all that is possible to cut down on waste and to be earth friendly. Along with recycling bottles and cans as you might expect, a vegetarian recycles a lot right at home. A recycling home will often have a compost pile in the yard for food waste and it will also support a good sized garden to use that compost to grow at home organic foods to supplement a healthy diet.
